The Big Give – December 2022 Series

Over the past four months, we’ve taken students through the Old Testament. We’ve seen the evidence of God’s love for us, learned we can trust Him, and added grit and courage to our tool belt of faith. Now we begin the transition to the New Testament!

James, the brother of Jesus, wrote that every good and perfect gift comes from God, but the best gift God ever gave was Jesus. From the beginning, God has had a plan to rescue the world from the consequences of sin. Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s plan. Because of Jesus, it’s possible for us to have a relationship with God that will last forever. As we remember the Christmas story, we take time to celebrate the greatest gift the world has ever known.

To find out what we’re talking about each week this December, take a look at the video below and get ready for the big give!

Stand – November 2022 Series

This month as we continue our journey through God’s Big Story, we take a closer look at the lives of significant people in the Jewish Scriptures: Joshua and Caleb, David, Daniel, and Esther. Each of them trusted God and found the courage to face difficult circumstances. They also represent major time periods in Israel’s history—from entering the land of Canaan, the United Kingdom, and Exile.

Like these people we read about in the Old Testament, God may ask us to take a risk or do something we might not feel prepared to do. But God will also give us the courage we need to face that challenge. We can also look to Jesus. He faced the biggest challenge of all: death on the cross. Still, He chose to be brave and follow God’s plan.

To see what we’re talking about each week, take a few minutes to watch this video, and don’t forget to bring your elementary students every Sunday at 10:30 am as we find courage in God.

Cliffhanger – October 2022 series

As we continue our journey through God’s Big Story, we take a closer look at the lives of Joseph and Moses. Both of these men trusted God through hard circumstances and would not give up. These are two heroes of the faith, and we hope to help kids see how their stories connect between Genesis and Exodus. God has been faithful throughout history and has helped people get through and overcome incredible difficulties. God’s Son, Jesus, endured the pain of the cross and death itself so that we could have a forever relationship with God. God gives us the Holy Spirit to empower us to keep going, even when life gets difficult.

On My Block – February 2022 Series Overview

As always, a new month means a new lesson series! Our February theme is “On My Block – Care For The People In Your Neighborhood”. I’m so excited for this series as we study how Jesus treated the people around him and learn to be Christ-like as we care for the people around us!

Our Life App this month is Compassion, caring enough to do something about someone else’s need.

As always, every lesson in the series will build on our Life App. Check out the weekly breakdown below.

January 2022 Lesson Overview

Happy New Year!

It’s that time of year when we make resolutions for the year ahead. It’s also that time of year when we build or break habits that help us uphold those resolutions. At the root of those habits is self-control, and even self-control requires practice. We have to practice self-control to make better choices, to change our lifestyle, to commit to pursuing a deeper relationship with God.

Every week this month, we’re focusing on a different aspect of our life app, self-control.

Throughout January, we’ll be breaking down our Life Application (or Life App), self-control, to discover the consequences of losing our self-control and the benefits of establishing this fruit of the Spirit in our lives.

Our core scripture for the month reminds us that we’re not alone in our quest for self-control; God is right here with us!

December 2021 Lesson Overview

“Light Show: Let the Christmas celebration begin” is our kids church theme all December long.

Can you believe it’s December already?! We’re headed into the thick of the holidays, surrounded on all sides by the music and pageantry of a highly commercialized season, a time when the world demands more, more, more until we’re so distracted and stressed we miss out on the joy of Christmas.

I love our theme and Life App this month because we’re taking it right back to Jesus’ birth, the ultimate Christmas gift, and the events that led to that magnificent miracle.

Our Life App this month.

Our lesson line-up keeps the focus on celebrating God for who He is and what He’s done and still doing. Driving the message home, our memory verse is John 3:16. How amazing is it that God loves us so much He gave so much to redeem us?!

CONNECTION: I live in pursuit of an infinite God who desires an eternal relationship with me. TRUTH: My response to God’s Word shapes how I see God’s story of redemption at work in me and around me.

We’re looking forward to an amazing month! Sunday School starts at 9:30 am, and Kids Church starts at 10:30 am! See you there!

Up Cycle – November Overview

November usually brings to mind gratitude as we celebrate holidays from Veterans Day to Thanksgiving and begin looking ahead to Christmas. We’re leaning into that spirit of thankfulness in kids church by focusing on the Life Application of Contentment.

Over the next four weeks, we’ll dive into what it means to be okay with what you have, looking to the Bible to discover the joys of contentment as well as the consequences of greed. Want the week-by-week details? Check them out below!
