DEFINITIONS POWER AND AUTHORITY<\/strong><\/p>\n

Luke 10:19<\/strong> I have given you authority EXOUSIA<\/strong> to trample on snakes and scorpions<\/strong> and over all the power DUNAMIS of the enemy<\/strong>;<\/p>\n

AUTHORITY: (exousia)<\/em>\u00a0 – The rule of government that commands su<\/span>bmission highest judicial control possible that can exert rule and dominance.<\/span><\/p>\n

POWER: (d<\/em>unamis<\/em>) – The ability to do something. Miracle working power.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Exousia<\/em> or authority is the right to do it.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The authority that Jesus gave the disciples was to be able to overcome the power \u2013 NOT AUTHORITY – of the enemy.\u00a0<\/span>The enemy rules by power, not by authority.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Luke 9:1-2<\/strong> When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power<\/strong> and authority to drive out all demons<\/strong> and to cure diseases<\/strong>, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom<\/strong> of God and to heal the sick<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Jesus had the level of authority that He exercised in the Gospels and was able to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, doing many miracles because of:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a01. His relationship with the Father – They were one.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 His level of submission to the Mission of the Father – constantly drew aside to spend time with the Father in the secret place (Hebrews 5:7,8)<\/span><\/p>\n

Our authority will also come from our relationship with Jesus then through the commission of Jesus.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our relationship with God, what does it look like?<\/p>\n
