\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Finding Peace in the Storm<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>I do not know about you, but the last few months have brought on uncertainties that I never imagined.\u00a0 In just three short months, our world shifted and changed bringing with it a slew of fear.\u00a0 A fear of contact and touch.\u00a0 A fear of the world ending.\u00a0 A fear of economic failure and financial ruin.\u00a0 In the face of fear, where did you run too?\u00a0 Can I be honest?\u00a0 I tried at first to keep myself grounded.\u00a0 I went for walks in the evening.\u00a0 I tried to eat balanced meals. \u00a0I read scripture and prayed.\u00a0 I even went through a beautiful process of healing and restoration.\u00a0 However, as the time crept on, isolation settled in and I began to waver and look for other fulfilling outlets like retail therapy and sugary delights.\u00a0 Do not judge me.\u00a0 I know some of you will understand the Amazon struggle (not to mention being quarantined with my daughter who is a savory chef).\u00a0 As I began to find comfort in these other things, I pulled away from the comfort of the Holy Spirit a little.\u00a0 Believe me; I need the Holy Spirit present to convict when I am trying to \u201ccheck out\u201d. \u00a0Whatever your vice is, we can begin to adjust our ears to it and it appears to call louder than the Holy Spirit if we are not careful.\u00a0 You see, my emotions need to be subject to the Spirit.\u00a0 My fears needed to be conquered through the security of knowing all things were in the hands of the one who gave me life and called me his own\u2026 not merely shoved down and ignored by the comforts of retail therapy or sugar.\u00a0 Let us be honest, our vices ultimately just leave us emptier than before.<\/p>\n

Perhaps some of you felt the isolation, were scared of becoming ill, or even dying.\u00a0 Maybe you had an inability to see an aging parent in a nursing home or felt awkward talking to someone at the grocery store because of the debate over masks and social distancing. \u00a0No matter what the fear has been, I am here to remind you that the one, who holds it all, is holding onto you.\u00a0 He sees the fear, unrest, and uncertainty.\u00a0 He is calling to you, \u201ccome and rest\u201d daughter.<\/p>\n

Natalie Grant wrote in her song \u2018King of the World\u2019:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen did I forget that you’ve always been the king of the world?
\nI try to take life back right out of the hands of the king of the world
\nHow could I make you so small
\nWhen you’re the one who holds it all
\nWhen did I forget you’ve always been the king of the world
\nYou will always be the king of the world<\/em>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

I urge you sisters to nestle into his arms.\u00a0 Let the words of scripture and His all-consuming embrace surround you.\u00a0 Take a few deep breaths and breathe Him in.\u00a0 Invite Him into your space and offer an exchange\u2026your burdens for His grace.\u00a0 My sister, you are loved deeply, and He wants nothing more than to spend some time with you and share the secrets of His heart with you.\u00a0 I pray that you find His peace in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.\u201d\u00a0 Psalm 94:1<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
