Out of the Ashes is grateful to celebrate 10 years of serving individuals and families impacted by addiction and homelessness. What started as a simple act of opening a home has grown into a community, driven mission that continues to restore lives and bring hope to those in need.

This milestone is not about any one individual, it reflects the power of a united community. From dedicated team members to faithful supporters, volunteers, and local partners, every life impacted has been made possible through collective compassion, commitment, and action.

Thank you to everyone who helps make it possible!

Helaina’s Testimony

On April 15th I came to Out of the Ashes because I needed to get sober and get my life back together. I was smoking weed and doing meth. I started meth in July 2025. I had never tried it until then, and relapsing took everything from me, my place to live, my kids, my car, all my clothes. I ended up in jail for 16 days and got out on probation for 18 months with my first ever drug charges.

When I came here, I got sober and rededicated my life to the Lord and was baptized. With getting sober and turning my life back to God, I have fixed my relationship with my kids. I have found a new love for life, and I am clean and sober today thanks to the grace of God and thanks to Out of the Ashes.

Celebrating 8 months of continuous sobriety and deliverance!

Jamie made a decision to surrender the high cost of low living and it shows. He got a sponsor, plugged in heavy with service, committed to the process, got a job… and now just got a car!

This is what happens when someone takes full advantage of the opportunity placed in front of them. Real change. Real progress. Real freedom.

Jamie, we are proud of you. Keep going. This is just the beginning.

And to our community, thank you. It’s only because of your support that we’re able to provide this kind of life-changing opportunity. We couldn’t do it without you.

We celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ, He is risen!

Seven people gave their lives to the Lord and or rededicated their lives to Him. Heaven is rejoicing!

We also celebrate Cody and Jerome, one year of sobriety! What a powerful testimony that God is still in the business of breaking chains of addiction and homelessness, one person at a time.

We are so grateful for our community. Your love, prayers, and support make this possible. We truly couldn’t do it without you.

We give God all the honor, all the praise, and all the glory, in Jesus’ name!

Heather’s Testimony

In April of 2024 I became homeless because I had injured my ankle, then I lost my job. I had to give up the place I had been renting due to longer being able to afford the rent any longer. I stayed in my car for as long as I could but eventually had to turn it in because I wasn’t able to afford it any longer either.

A series of unfortunate events took place, and I ended up doing prison time. Not long, but enough to know it’s no place anyone wants to go. It just led me into a series of more unfortunate events. Got out in August of 2025 and returned to a friend’s place where I was safe and he helped me get through my ankle surgery, but I wasn’t able to stay there until completely recovered. Matter of fact, I’m still recovering and have had a few setbacks.

Now migraines have been added to my diagnosis chart, with a few incidents of high blood pressure. This is common with migraines and head trauma, because my nose was broken in county jail, Rutherford County jail.

Anyways, I needed a place to recover and heal my spirit. This is what led me to Out of the Ashes.

Last year we broke attendance records with over 2,000 people coming together for an incredible night of faith, community, and fellowship.

This event is about bringing our community together, lifting up the name of Jesus, and supporting the mission of breaking the chains of addiction and homelessness one person at a time.

From the Founders – Out of the Ashes Ministries

Ten years ago, in 2016, we said “yes” to a call from God that we didn’t fully understand. We remember

asking where the resources would come from, and the Lord simply asked for our obedience. That

“yes” became Out of the Ashes. We started in our home, welcoming in strangers, walking alongside

them, and helping them discover their true identity and value in Christ. What began as a step of faith

has now grown into a ministry that has served over 3,000 individuals in Rutherford County. Every step

of the way, we’ve done the best we could with what we had, and we’re still doing that today. Along the

journey, God brought us together as husband and wife and blessed us with a beautiful family. We

witnessed incredible miracles, like receiving a debt-free facility on Old Ross Road, where many lives

were transformed. Then came 2020. In the midst of COVID, God called us again, this time to open a

women and children’s mission. It stretched us beyond what felt possible. We operated in multiple

locations, faced financial and infrastructure challenges, and endured difficult seasons but God

remained faithful. In 2021, through His provision and your support, we were able to purchase our

current campus. Today, Out of the Ashes continues to be a place of refuge, offering a safe, sober

environment where people can find hope, healing, and restoration. Now we are stepping into the next

phase: sustainability. Our vision is to develop affordable workforce housing, creating a pathway from

shelter to stability, giving individuals and families a second chance and a place they can call home.

We currently have a remaining balance of $154,000 on our campus, and we are prayerfully believing to

become debt-free so we can expand this mission for generations to come. It hasn’t been easy, but the

promises of God are still “yes and amen.” He is still saving, delivering, healing, and restoring lives

today. This ministry exists because of you, your prayers, your generosity, and your willingness to

stand with us. Many hands have truly made light work. To our board, our team, our volunteers, and

every supporter: thank you. We are deeply grateful. All honor, glory, and praise belong to the Lord.
