Operation Kuwait for Christmas

I apologize for the long delay in posting the update for this mission project. As soon as we got the boxes packed and shipped, my family started coming in for Christmas. Soon after, I lost the ability to upload information until now.

I would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who supported Operation Kuwait for Christmas. The deployed Soldiers were overjoyed to get their packages! Thanks to the support of Father’s Vineyard, my family and our community, we were able to send 8 boxes filled with love, prayers, and goodies! There were also 20 individual presents, one for each Soldier.

We have another young man from our county who will be shipping to Afghanistan next month. Please take a moment to write a letter/card of encouragement and drop it in the blessing basket at the back of the church (near the information booth). You may also mail your cards to the church, just add Deployed Soldier to the front of the card. More details to come.

Thank you again for your support! Please continue to keep our military and their families in your prayers. If you have a loved one deployed or in training or know someone who is, please let me know.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:9-10

We are “nuts” about our troops!

I am happy to report that thanks to the generous donations of a few individuals (a Veteran and his wife) who donated some tasty protein treats, salt n pepper cashews, we were able to mail another package to our deployed troops! We also had a few trails of Carmex that were included in the package.

I am humbled by the outpouring love and support! Please continue all of our troops and their families in your prayers. Pray God’s hedge of protection over them as in Psalm 91 listed below.

1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. 9 If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Carmex Express is on its way!

Thank you to to everyone who wrote cards, dontated Carmex and money towards this mission project!

I just mailed the package of goodies to our deployed group of National Guard. Sara said the mail is running about two months behind. I am claiming this package will reach its destination safely and quickly! Please join me in praying and continue this group and all our military personnel and their families in your prayers. They do so much to secure our freedoms, let us never forget! 🇺🇸

Half way through…

Our deployed National Guard have reached their half way mark. Please continue them and their families in your prayers.  They still have a long exhausting road ahead of them.

I will be sending small care packages (Carmex) with letters of encouragement soon.  If you would like to send a card of encouragement and/or Carmex, please drop your items in the blessing basket at church on Sunday. You may also drop your cards/Carmex off at the church office during the week or mail cards to:

Bibles Shipped

I want to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in Operation Arm Our Guard Bible Drive. The bibles were shipped out June 26th. Through your prayers and support, we were able to send 167 bibles to “arm our Guard with His word.”

We may never know the Soldiers who received one, but I do know that they will get into the hands of each Soldier God has purposed to have one.

Please continue to pray His hedge of protection (Psalm 91:4) over these brave warriors as they endure conditions we will never know. Pray also for their families who are not only left behind, but who will need to be a strong support system when they return.

…He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart ~ Psalm 91:4

Ministry update:  His timing is perfect! Our goal has been met! God is faithful, ALWAYS! Thank you to everyone who gave, supported, encouraged, and prayed! I am so humbled and grateful to serve as the director of this ministry and for the outpouring of love and support from our church, our community, friends, and family.

Please continue to pray for this mission project as there is still a lot of work to do before we can ship the bibles to our deployed Soldiers. I am hopeful that this project will be completed by mid July.

More updates to come. As we prepare to ship these bibles to our deployed Soldiers, please help pray.

  • Pray for volunteers to help package and pray over the bibles
  • Pray for the packages to make it through customs unopened
  • Pray for the safety of these brave warriors as they serve in the hot zones

May is National Military Appreciation Month

May  1st – Silver Star Banner Day
May  8th – V-E Day
May 19th – Armed Forces Day
May 22nd – Maritime Day
May 28th – Memorial Day

Take time throughout the month of May to thank a Veteran or an active duty member of our armed forces through random acts of kindness: mow their grass, pay for their meal, write them a letter.

If you would like to help make a difference in the life of a deployed Soldier by writing them a letter of encouragement while they are deployed,  simply write what is on your heart and mail it to Father’s Vineyard, ATTN: Deployed Soldier, 724 Oakland Road, Spindale, NC 28160. These letters mean so much to our men and women who are in the service.

Time is one of our most valuable resources, will you take time today to send hope and encouragement by writing? Not sure what to write? Just speak from your heart. You don’t have to write a book. A few lines of your gratitude, perhaps a favorite scripture or two that has helped you through life and most importantly your prayers.

Soldiers on foreign soil; bibles still needed!

I wanted to touch base to let everyone know that our deployed Guard have finally reached foreign soil. We should have addresses soon and will be able to send them their bibles and letters of encouragement as well as our heartfelt prayers of protection ~ He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart ~ Psalm 91:4

Thank you to everyone who has shown support by praying as well as giving. We are only 1/3 of the way there, so we still need support and our troops and their families need our prayers! We also need letters of encouragement to send with the bibles. It is my prayer that each Soldier will receive at least one letter or card of encouragement from home with their bible.

If you have kept up with the news at all, you know that these Soldiers as well as many others deployed in combat zones are in harm’s way. Please keep them covered in your prayers!

“Prayer warriors are positioned by God to stand in faith for their family. Prayer is stronger than kings and mightier than armies. Prayer is the most powerful force on earth!” ~ Frances Frangipane
