I am proud to announce that the Honor Flight originally scheduled for September 28th, but postponed due to Hurricane Helene, has been rescheduled for April 26th, 2025. This meaningful journey is dedicated to honoring our veterans by providing them with the opportunity to visit the memorials built in their honor in Washington, D.C.
The Honor Flight program is a powerful way to express our gratitude to those who have served our country. Veterans will have the opportunity to connect with comrades, share stories and receive the recognition they so greatly deserve. They will also receive a long overdue “Welcome Home.”
I am so looking forward to joining the skies and DC with my Vietnam Veterans, Jim Ayers and Bruce Lancaster both from Rutherfordton, veteran and Guardian Mike Granato from Charleston, SC with his Vietnam Veteran, Neil Baker (Rutherfordton) and Guardian Vilma Lazo with her Vietnam Veteran, Gunny Bill Swope also of Rutherfordton.
It is a privilege and an honor to be part of such a wonderful organization, Blue Ridge Honor Flight.
